Read about the new 24-hour propoganda vehicle that the Perfect Latin American Idiots have concocted:

Witness Telesur, the brainchild of Cuban communist Fidel Castro and his ideological spawn Hugo Chávez. They say that it was created to both compete with foreign media conglomerates and offer a side of the news that is uniquely Latino. Independent, they say, from any voice but that of the people. The truth, however, is far from their propaganda platforms. Telesur is being funded by the leftist governments in Uruguay, Argentina, and Cuba, with Venezuela alone controlling 51% of the company. It will be housed in Caracas at the headquarters of Venezuela state media, where Chávez regularly opines for hours on end about impending imperialist invasion to the delight of only 2% of the Venezuelan public.

This is more than just propaganda--its a declared war. The scary part is that the "Latin American Idiots" are being smart about it, by using media.

I have noticed a rise in propaganda web sites, and news sites from within Cuba and Venezuela. They are fighting a war for the minds and hearts of the people.

The current administration has a wonderful opportunity here to support pro-democratic reform. Why not have a group of anti-Castro, pro democracy commenters flood these sites with comments. The trouble is, I bet even the comments that support these sites will all be state controlled. So as far as fighting the war for the hearts and minds, I don't think its much of a war. If you're Cuban and you see these sites, it another way to get the same stuff that comes from the Gvt. If you're from VZ, same thing. State controlled press is still state controlled press. So the hearts and minds have already been told waht to say and think. Cybersapce is just another way to say the same thing. Castro can't die fast enough. Mate La Barba!
